The People Behind the Site

Two Australians who fell in love with Sanur and just keep coming back

Who we are

Meet Bec & Mark Wyld

We’re Bec and Mark — a husband-and-wife team from Australia who have been travelling to Bali and staying in Sanur for many years. We started this site because we kept getting asked the same questions by friends and family planning their own trips, and we realised we had a lot to share.

We love all aspects of Sanur — from beachside restaurants and luxury beachfront hotels to small alleyway warungs and budget homestays. Mark is always up before sunrise to catch the light on the beach, while Bec has very strong opinions about hotel breakfast spreads.

For us it’s not just about the beach, food and resorts — it’s about the culture, the friendly people and the Balinese way of life. Sanur has a slower pace that we keep coming back for, no plans, no directions, just enjoying everything it has to offer.

Why Sanur

Our Happy Place

Sanur sits on the east coast of Bali and is renowned for its authenticity and slower pace of life. It’s a world away from the bustle of Kuta or Seminyak — quieter streets, calmer beaches and a genuine community feel that keeps drawing us back.

It’s our first choice every time we visit Bali. Whether we’re walking the beach path at sunrise, stopping for coffee on Jalan Danau Tamblingan, exploring the local markets or heading out on day trips to the rest of the island — Sanur always feels like home.

It’s also a fantastic base for exploring Bali. You’re close to everything but far enough away from the chaos to actually relax. If you haven’t been before, we think you’ll love it. If you keep coming back like us, you already know exactly what we mean.

About this site

Why We Built This

We regularly visit Sanur to keep you informed on the latest things to do, new restaurants and shopping opportunities. When we’re not in Bali, we have friends on the ground who report back with the latest happenings in Sanur so the information stays current.

Everything on this site comes from real experience — the hotels we’ve actually stayed in, the restaurants we keep going back to and the tips we wish someone had told us on our first visit.

Whether you’re planning your first trip to Sanur or you’ve been coming for years, we hope this site helps you get the most out of every visit. That’s exactly why we built it.
