Finding the Right Place to Stay in Sanur
We have spent many trips staying at different accommodations across Sanur. After trying everything from luxury beachfront resorts to family guesthouses, we’ve realised there’s no single “best” place to stay in Sanur — it all depends on what matters to you. Do you need a pool? A buffet breakfast? Do you want to be right on the beach? What does your budget allow?
After all these years of visits, what we will say is that the best area to stay is somewhere close in between Jalan Danau Tamblingan and the beachfront. North, South or Central Sanur all offer their own vibe, beaches, bars and restaurants.
The north end is busier with Byrds Nest Beach Club and the Icon Shopping Mall. The south end offers quieter beaches and funky coffee shops, while central Sanur allows easy access to both areas.
Sanur stretches away from the beach and across the bypass road — accommodation will be cheaper out there, but just be aware it’s a fair walk in the Bali heat to get to the beach and tourist areas. Location really is everything in Sanur.
