Shopping in Sanur
Less hustle, more treasure hunt — shopping in Sanur is a completely different experience from the rest of Bali
A Different Kind of Shopping Experience
Shopping in Sanur is a little different from areas like Kuta and Seminyak. There is no pushing, the shops and marketplaces are smaller and the haggling is not as intense. Shopping in Sanur feels less intimidating and stressful — more like an experience you don’t normally find in Bali.
You will still find stalls selling the same mass-produced sarongs and you will still encounter the market ladies saying “you come my shop and I give you morning price” — but they are not as pushy and there are not as many. Sanur in recent years has tended to head towards more fixed price shopping in places like Baruna Market and Sindhu Market, which for some comes as a relief.
There are also a number of supermarkets — from Artasendana on Jalan Tamblingan to Grand Lucky on the Bypass Road and Market City in the Icon Mall. We find Kita on Danau Poso to be the most local and the cheapest of them all.
We have mapped out the best spots — from morning market foods to night market handbags and sports tops — with honest tips learned the hard way.
